Big Sister

I'm going to be a Big Sister! I'm going to be a Big Sister! I'm going to be a Big Sister!

Wait, will this shirt still fit on February 25th?

Spaghettios!

Look Mom, I can feed myself with a spoon! But, on second thought, using my hands is so much easier!

Swimming with Papa Rick

The last day Grandma and Grandpa were here, we went on the boat with Papa Rick. We had tons of fun swimming with the dogs and watching them chase the retrieving dummies. All was going well until Grandma drank a little bit too much tea..........but that's another story!

After swimming we went fishing by the Dent Bridge. Dad caught a smallmouth bass on his second cast. Dad - let me try that fishing pole out!

More Sandbox Fun

Like I said, everyday should be sandbox day!

Stepping Stone

Grandma and Grandpa helped me make my very own stepping stone. The plan was to put it in the front yard before Dad and Grandma filled it full of rocks from the Huckleberry adventure. Maybe I'll keep it in my room now............

Playing with Grandma

Grandma thinks I should become an engineer........... Dad thinks I'm better at demolition work..........

Sandbox

Dad and Grandpa filled my sandbox and I couldn't wait to play in it. Wow, this so much fun! We should play here all the time! After I was thoroughly sugar coated in sand, Mom wanted me to come inside. Dad thought that spraying me off with the hose would work - I got cleaner, but Dad got more than an earful from Grandma! Delicate flower, Dad!

Swimming

The day after our Huckleberry adventure, we went swimming behind our house. Dad, Grandpa, and Jetta took the boat to find sand for my sandbox. Mom and Grandma weren't impressed - they said the sand would have sand fleas in it! Are sand fleas fun to play with?

We had fun swimming. Dad tried to race Jetta to her dummy, but he forgot that the river is full of rocks - ouch! Who's the dummy now?

Horses

We saw this horse on the truck trail up the mountain. He was with a bunch of his friends. I wish he would have told us what lay ahead........

After we had driven 2 hours on the Skull creek loop road we came to a sign that said "Road Closed". Grandpa assessed the washout and said, "we can make it". Mom and Grandma screamed, but we made it across. Around the next bend was another washout. This one didn't look as easy. Dad suggested he scout down the road further. Sure enough, the entire road was gone around the corner. So much for a "loop"!

Grandpa and Dad got the truck turned around and we started the two hours back to the main road. And we were so close to the end! I finally fell asleep when we got to the blacktop. The two-track trail was just to bumpy. zzzzzzz..........

What a View

Good job Dad, I knew we should go further up the road! No Huckleberries, but a great Chevy pickup picture opportunity. We're on top of the mountains!

Back to the Truck

Dad's enthusiasm for Huckleberry hunting never faltered. After our first spot didn't turn out he said we needed to push on to higher elevations further back into the wilderness. Grandma was not impressed, but Grandpa thought it was a good idea!

Back to the truck we go!

Is this a Huckleberry?

Mom, look at all these Huckleberries! What, these are rocks??

Huckleberry Heaven!

Dad took all of us up to the mountains to look for Huckleberries. Grandpa drove and Dad navigated. We went to a place called Skull Creek, aka Dad's Huckleberry Heaven. Unfortunately, nobody told the Huckleberries to show up there!

The five of us did find just enough Huckleberries so I could eat 3 of them on the mountain and we each got 5 on our pancakes the next morning. You need a better Huckleberry Hunting spot, Dad!

Grandma and Grandpa are Here!

Grandma and Grandpa Eide came out to visit from North Dakota. Grandpa's truck stopped twice on the way - once for a vapor lock in the fuel line and the second time for a blown tire! Luckily, both problems were fixed quickly and they got back on the road.

Swimming

After picking blackberries, I needed a bath. We went down to the river to swim with Jetta. Dad played with me for awhile and then he went snorkeling with Jetta. Jetta and Dad found all kinds of neat fishing lures while they were snorkeling. Unfortunately, Mom wouldn't let me play with any of them!

Yummy!

Can I have more, please?

Blackberries for Harley

We went up the hill to pick blackberries today. Where are they Jetta?

Dad, are you sure this is what the cool kids wear? I'm going to tell Mom what you dressed me in!

Blackberry Pie

Mom and I made blackberry pie for Dad when he got home on Friday from his work trip to Portland. Its about time you came back, Dad!

Harley and the Squash Stalk

Do you think I can ride this up to the clouds?

Dad is already on cloud nine because Aunt Alanna is coming out to visit in September with Mo, Melissa, and Justin to go flyfishing. Dad booked a guided steelhead fishing trip with The Guide Shop so that Aunt Alanna and crew could learn how to fly fish. Of course, Mom and Dad are going too. Wait, where does that mean I'm going?

The Clown

This clown made me a balloon flower. I liked the balloon, but I wasn't too sure about the clown!

The Kid's games

Dad thought it would be a good idea for me to play the kid's games at the Raspberry Festival. I finally found a game I was good at, finding treasures in the sandbox, and then Dad said I had to leave! Of course, that was after I covered myself, Mom, Dad, and the game operator with sand!

Building a Tepee

I helped build a tepee at the Raspberry Festival. I was having so much fun, Mom and Dad were going to leave me with the Park Ranger. Fat chance - I'm coming with you guys!

Raspberry Festival

On Sunday we went to the Raspberry festival at the St. Gertrude monastary in Cottonwood, Idaho. Mom and I entered the 5K walk and Dad entered the 10K run. Mom and Dad both got first place in their age divisions! Mom and I finished in 47 minutes and Dad finished in 50 minutes.

Wait, where is my medal?

Big Eddy Trail

We hiked with some friends from church on the Big Eddy Trail on Saturday morning. The hike was ten miles and took us 4 1/2 hours! After the hike we had burgers and snacks at the State Park and played in mud beach!

Dad's Mink

Dad caught a mink at work on Saturday. We took it up to the State Park to give it a new home. Jetta wasn't very excited about riding in the back of the truck with Mr. Mink, but she made it without jumping out!

Mom thought Mr. Mink was cute and we should take him home as a pet. Dad said no way......the only way a mink was coming home was as a fur coat!

The Trip Home

I'm not tired....I'm not tired.......I'm not ......zzzzzzzzz

Playing on the Beach

Hey, this looks more like a mudflat than a beach!

Jumping Off the Deck

Dad and I practiced jumping off the back deck of the boat. Wow, this is fun!

Swimming with Mom

See Dad, this is how swimming with a baby is supposed to be!

Swimming With Dad

Dad, are you sure we are going to be alright? You look a little low in the water!

Boating with Papa Rick

Our neighbor, Papa Rick, took us boating on the Reservoir last weekend. We had tons of fun swimming and playing in the water. I didn't even cry while I was buckled into my life jacket the entire time!
