Moving to New Mexico

LP Dad is in New Mexico this week checking out our new home!  We are moving to the Mora National Fish Hatchery where dad will be the Hatchery Manager.  The moving truck is coming the week of Sep 15.  Mora is in northern New Mexico and raises endangered Gila Trout - it is beautiful!

Huckleberry Pancakes

Dad made us huckleberry pancakes today for our last morning at the cabin.  They were soooo yummy!  Way better than the first huckleberry pancakes we had that only had 5 huckleberries!  We picked more flowers and left them for the owner of the cabins - she was really nice!

We were sad to leave, but tired from our long weekend of playing.  We stopped briefly at Campbell's Pond and went swimming, but I got tired of that fast, so Mom and Dad said it was time to go home.  We slept most of the way back :-)

Dad's Fish

Dad finally caught a fish!  He was so excited that he called Mom over all those rocks to come take a picture of it.  He mumbled something about being close to the biggest cutthroat trout he'd ever caught outside of Henry's Lake - whatever that means :-)

Fishing with Dad

Dad and I went fishing.  He fished....and fished....and fished..........are you sure there are any fish here, Dad?

Playing in the Water

We found a shady spot along the river that had some sand. However, the water was as cold as the river (50 F).  Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!!  We had lunch and Mom and Dad had us wash the dishes.  Hmmm....this doesn't seem like that much fun :-)

The Hike Back

On the way back, Mom and Dad carried us on their shoulders.  Wow!  That was fun!  Then, we decided to hike back to the river to play for the day!

The River

The hike lead us down to the river, it was a nice spot to take a break.  Emy threw rocks in the water, and I picked Huckleberries with Mom. There weren't very many huckleberries, but what we found were delicious!

Hiking

We went on a couple of short hikes.  We found a baby bird, and picked flowers, and thimble berries, and even some huckleberries!  That was fun!

Weekend Adventure!

After the Vacation Bible School recital we drove to Pierce for our weekend getaway!  Mom and Dad got bid on a gift certificate for two nights at the Trail Creek Cabins.  We were so excited to be in the loft of the cabins, that we hardly slept a wink.  Well, until Dad came up there too, then we had to sleep.  Emy was really funny - she kept pointing to the elk antlers on the wall and saying "deer gone".  She is so used to seeing full shoulder mounts that Dad does that she wasn't sure what to make of the antlers with no head attached!

The next morning we ate breakfast before leaving for the Aquaris campground on the North Fork of the Clearwater River.

Vacation Bible School

I went to Vacation Bible School all week at the Wells Bench Church.  I had a blast!  We had our recital on Friday night - afterwards we got hotdogs and root beer floats - yipeee!

We love summer!

July 5th Fireworks

We were too tired to stay up until dark on the 4th of July because we just got home from our camping trip.  So we had our fireworks on the 5th of July with our neighbors, Rick, Jeremy, Mary Theresa, and DJ.

New Swings

Dad made us new swings in the backyard.  Mom was scared to death, but we love them!!  Yippeeee!!!
