Las Vegas

On Sunday we visited some homes with a Realtor in Las Vegas.  There were some nice homes, but we are leaning towards Taos.  There are more opportunities for Mom's work and our school classes there.  Mom is going to check out more salon's in Taos this week......

After we looked at houses, we went to the playground and ate lunch at Charlie's restaurant.  Charlie's makes their own fresh tortillas in the front of the restaurant.  We had a blast watching the tortilla machine work!

Chasing Leaves

Dad convinced us that we could catch leaves falling from the Cottonwood trees.  Dad, I haven't seen you catch one yet, are you sure this is possible??

Parade Candy

We watched the parade from the very end of the show.  That was a great place, because everyone that had candy left, dropped it with us!!  We had sooooo much candy that I don't think we'll have to go trick or treating!  Just Kidding!! You can never have too much candy!

Mom and Dad

Mom!!!  Stop laying around with Dad and come push me on the swing!

House Hunting in Taos

We drove around looking at houses in Taos on Saturday.  We went to Taos to see the hot air balloon festival, but they were all landed by the time we got there at 10:30 am.  You have to go early in the morning to see the balloons!!  We had fun looking for new homes and later we went to the balloon parade and played at the park.

Riding the Bus Home!

I switched buses all by myself on Friday and road home to the front gate of the Hatchery where Emy and Mom met me.  I was soooo excited!!

Emy's Lipstick

Emy took Dad's chapstick from his nightstand to put "lipstick" on her baby doll.  No wonder Dad can never find anything on his nightstand!

Jetta in bed?

Dad played a joke on me and put Jetta in my bed. Now, how am I going to get her down??

Olives

Yummy!!!  Shhhhh.......don't tell Mom we're playing with our food!

Morphy Lake

Dad took us to Morphy Lake on Saturday.  Morphy Lake is about 10 miles from our house and is stocked with trout.

We didn't see many people catching fish, but we had fun walking around the lake!

More Chiles!

Daniel's Mom, Gloria, came over this weekend and showed Mom and Dad how to cook green chiles.  It was still too spicy for me, but Emersyn liked them!  We also bought more red chiles to make ristras.  We gave one ristra to our neighbor, Grant, because Jetta ate all the peppers out of his garden.  You are supposed to hang the ristras outside to dry, but its been to rainy this weekend for that!

I'm Back!!!

Whew!!  We are finally almost settled in New Mexico.  We got an internet connection for the desktop today (needed a WiFi USB adapter) - so my blog is finally back!

We've been having a blast so far here in New Mexico!  We are temporarily living on the Hatchery until we find a place in the area.  The Mora NFH is beautiful and I've started school in Holman (5 miles away).  We haven't decided on a location yet for our house, but somewhere between Las Vegas and Taos, NM.  It is all very pretty and the people here are very friendly!

Our mailing address is:

PO Box 185
Mora, NM 87732

Our physical address is (FedEx or UPS) :

#10 Hatchery Housing Lane
Hwy 434 MM 1.7

Dad's phone number is 575-776-7170
Mom's phone number is 575-776-7182

Hope all is well!!

Love,

Harley, Emy, Mom, Dad, and of course, Jetta

Chiles!!!

We went to Las Vegas (New Mexico) today to check out some houses and get groceries.  Mom and Dad saw a truck filled with brown gunny sacks so they stopped to buy potatoes.......that showed their Idaho ignorance!  Gunny sacks in New Mexico are filled with Chile peppers not potatoes!  Dad bought a half a sack of Chiles and they roasted them right there.  Then, Mom and Dad peeled Chiles for two hours.  Mom's hands are still burning - should have worn gloves like they warned!!

But, the fajitas we made tonight were worth the suffering!

The Hiking Trip!

We had a great time hiking!  We got turned around once and headed the wrong direction, but eventually we found the waterfall!  On the way back, we just made it too the truck before a thunderstorm hit - whew!  That was close!

Pancakes!

Pancakes for breakfast before our big hiking trip this weekend.  Grant and his fiancee, Sammy, invited us to hike to a waterfall near the Pecos Wilderness about 45 minutes from our house.  We can't wait to go!

Going Home

Emy and I found yellow leaves (cottonwood) on the way back to the car from picking raspberries.  They are beautiful - I want to take them all home!

Raspberry Ice Cream

We picked 5 pounds of raspberries at the Salman ranch!  Afterwards, we had raspberry ice cream at their cafe!!  It was yummy!!  Emy and I had fun making silly faces at the camera!

Picking Raspberries

We went to Salman farms this weekend to pick raspberries.  It was their last weekend for picking because the weather is getting too cold.  We saw on the mountain tops on the way to the raspberry farm!!

Yummy Cookies!!!
