Unfortunately, Jennifer and Laura got off their shifts around 7 am. However, they left my baby sister under the watchful eye of nurse Shirley.
Nurse Shirley has completed more deliveries than most Papa Johns pizza men! She is the head nurse at the hospital and has worked there longer than most of the nurses have been alive.
Nurse Shirley's white nurse cap gives her a no-nonsense look, but she has a huge soft spot for babies, especially my baby sister! As soon as Mom was feeling a little better, nurse Shirley moved Mom and Dad into their own room where Dad got a bed too!
The rest of morning was spent with lots of check-ups for Emersyn and Mom. At noon, Mom went in for tubal ligation. Those are big words, Mom! Mom came back after surgery feeling a little loopy. She finally did get her money's worth out of Trent!
I stayed with Kristen all day at her house. We watched movies and played. Mom didn't feel up to a visit, so Dad texted us pictures of Baby Emersyn. I couldn't wait to meet her!
